Its mature and unusual trees, broad lawns, walking paths, historic bandstand, and shaded picnic areas create a welcoming green space near the center of the city.

The park is also home to Kids’ World Playground and regularly serves as a gathering place for community celebrations, including Earth Day and the Summer Solstice festival.
